I thought feeling the heat on the exterior of the glass 6 feet! was probably a typo, likely he meant 6 inches. He has a dozen typos. But also he says the interior will be 30-50 degrees cooler with his shades. If it's a 100 degrees outside it could be 50 inside? Anyway, my fears have been put to rest.

WW

I have used it for years in the California heat.....no issues so far.

To prevent light from coming through, I laminate one side with aluminum foil.

Just spray both parts with 3M 77 and stick 'em together.

Yeah, I have a few spots where the foil seamed to be thin (a few light spots on the sheet) but much cooler and VERY dark none the less.

Debunked

My firsthand tests on this subject matter with a Thermal Camera debunk this completely.

Reflecting the sun's energy that results in solar heating with a solar reflector placed on the inside of a window does not result in extraordinary heat trapped between the inside glass and the reflective material.

In my tests, the thermal camera revealed that air temperatures remained close to ambient on all sides of the glass and the reflector.

Wow, a shade that drops the temperature 30 degrees? No need for an AC. Sign me up.[emoji38]

with our dark windows, no one can see thru them during the daytime, but night time is a different story, ... we use Reflectix for night time privacy, ... I cut a custom sized piece for every window and we slide them into place when it starts getting dark, ... it's almost impossible to see any light from the outside, ... much better for privacy than shades, curtains, ect ...
