I hope you don't feel that your home is secure when you go camping if you use entry locks and dead bolts to secure it. I have a set of pick tools and could get into it in no time. Nothing you do will totally secure anything . If a thief is determined you might as well leave your stuff unlocked! Just saying.

I use a lockout tagout lock on the hitch from my prior place of employment. Everyone knows its illegal to remove a lockout tagout lock so I feel secure. Lol

I use the two devices shown below. Just hoping it makes them think it is too much of a hassle.

I had to park pull in where tongue was 1/2" from garage door. It required a power dolly. I felt safe at home, traveling, I was always there. PD is available as now I have a motorized TT (RV).

Yeah I paid a lot for it. When I pay 25k for for a trailer I am willing to pay more than $29.95 to help secure it. When the bad guy has a battery operated saw, he sees this lock and moves to the trailer parked 2 spots down with the $29.95 lock on it.

I had exactly that setup on my Mini-Lite 2104S when it got stolen from a storage yard. I thought that would discourage any crooks, obviously it didn't.

Catch a rabid racoon and leash it to the tongue. Problem solved.

My Reese hitch lock gave me piece of mind till this spring when I realized the key to it fell off my key ring and I couldn't find it. 45 seconds with my cordless dremel and all piece of mind was gone. That's how long it took me to cut through it.
I figure that you can't stop it, but if you make it as difficult as possible a thief may give up.

This looks interesting. I plan on keeping my new trailer in my driveway, with this cable around the bumper and anchored to a post inside the garage. The alarm will be inside the garage where it is out of sight and plenty loud enough to get anyone's attention. There is someone home most of the time and always at night, I think it will work. I might get a shorter one to use on my generator when dry camping. I've already gone through the theft of one trailer, I'm not about to lose another!

I realize that may be overboard for some folks, but it just adds another level of comfort for me. Besides the GPS tracker, I have a hitch lock, a cable lock around my propane tanks, and I run a chain with a master lock through one of the axle wheels and around one of the suspension springs.
As an alternative, I would buy a cheap pay as you go Android phone. Installed a tracking app and hide the phone in the TT. You also would have a back up phone for emergencies. I did this with my moving truck to keep tabs on it's location.

Those things are garbage, and thieves know it. My dad's ATV trailer had one, and the key stopped working. Four strikes from a 2lb hammer to a punch and the cylinder was gone, and the bottom fell off.

Best deterrent is to live in it full time and a 357 under your recliner seat.

I keep my hybrid trailer in a locked RV garage when not in use, and am not going to worry about complete theft while camping. I lock the camper doors while away from the campground, but a locked door is of little protection for the contents of a pop-up or hybrid. A cabinet-mounted handgun-sized safe (around $30) can serve like a hotel safe in an RV.

I like the idea of a cheap pay as you go Android phone. We keep our rig in a locked rv storage garage, but you never know. We do have electricity to keep it charged. Having a backup phone for emergencies appeals also. Thanks for the idea.
