Even in the most populated areas, you can very clearly see the ISS. It's pretty neat to see.

That is very neat! Often see things moving along but seldom know what they are.

If you have a smartphone check out the app "sky guide"! You can view the sky with your smart phone and the app will point out objects in the same view field. You can even have the app direct you to an object to locate it in the sky.

Great for identifying objects you see in the night sky.

I have mine set to send me notices of events such as comets, showers, and man made objects.

You can even view the sky on the other side of the earth or the day time sky.

Our town is not listed, so I don't know how I can tell when it's coming over. I have seen it before though when a TV station said it would be coming over. It is really quite a sight- really lit up and way more spectacular than I ever thought it would be. Thanks for the link!

Pick the closest town to you that is listed.
Look in the same direction and elevation from the horizon.

I had to use Philadelphia because our suburb town was close and it was almost perfect.

Be patient, many of them are ungodly hours but eventually you'll get a respectable one.

Spot the International Space Station

The free app GoISSwatch will tell you when and where for each pass for wherever you are located.

Android app ISS Detector will point you to the spot you should be looking. The ISS passes approx. every 1.5 hours but if you want cool set the app to point to Iridium Flares. Now that is something to see.
