maybe its just the fabricator in me...I try to build everything wayyy heavier than needed, my car trailer I built is registered at 9500 with two 5200 axles
Likewise, I usually over build also, but I am not selling thousands of campers and depending on max profit. I don't like what the mfgs do, but we are helpless to change it so we just have to live with it and make the most of the cards we're dealt.

Yup, just a shame how everything is engineered to the point of just before failure. I have a grey wolf 28BH, if we don't trade it in next season I plan on putting 5200lb axles under it.

Well here is my update. Dealer calls to tell me he talked to axle maker and they said even though my trailer is 4 months out of warantee, for customer satisfaction they wil replace the axles butt no labor charges! Even better, the dealer then contacts FR and they agree to pay the labor but no credit towards tires. I can live that. I can still use the tires, only worn down on inside of all 4 tires, so dealer says that with the axles corrected the tires will wear evenly. If this corrects the problem I am completely satisfied, by not only the dealer, but FR and the axle company!

Did I miss it or did no one mention the chance of the axles being upside down.

I don't think mine were upside down, dealer told me he he took measurements and then had to compare to the axle company's specs. But I guess anything is possible?????

For more ground clearance or so the camper doesn't sit nose high.

There have been several cases of the axles being installed upside-down. This problem was done by the axle/frame manufacturer.
