I was on a concrete pad a month ago in a KOA in Rock Island, IL.

Old Coot, Have you looked at marineboard. You can purchase this in many sizes. I have also gone to the local marine shop and had them cut me custom size. See attached link for info about what I am talking about. Just an idea..

Well, I am way too slow... Old Coot already done with mod.. Guess I need to read all the thread before making a suggestion but it may be good for someone else..

That looks like the kind of thing that could be used for a lot of purposes.

I appreciate the information. I'll see how these last. I may have to add another pc of tread plate on the bottom of the next set of Lynx blocks, but alum tread plate is only $1.75/lb here, so it is not expensive and I can cut it on my modified band saw.

I have used it in the past. It is a good strong material that is easy to work with standard tools. I also used on my fish cleaning table as a top, but as you said there are many uses where you want a durable product that won't rot and is not effected by water.

Normally the trailer sits over on the concrete drive and my truck sits here. Moved it over about 2 weeks ago when Glenn Jurcyzk brought his 5er down for some mods and haven't moved it back. Will just leave it here until we leave for Goshen. Will have to do 2 moves. Move the 5er to concrete and the racecar trailer over to the gravel and back farther alongside the garage.

Decided Lou was right about the gravel tearing up the Lynx blocks so I went down and got some more sheets of tread plate and made bottom covers for the blocks. Just bent tabs up for attaching to the sides and pop rivet the covers on. Got the back stab jack pads done and will do the fronts when I hook up to move the 5er over on the concrete.

Should be the best of both camps(except one), durable, light weight, won't leave rust stains, won't rot and won't leave marks.

Finished, all 4 Lynx blocks now have alum tread plate covers on top and bottom.

After second thought, I'm not sure I see the point of this. You're only gaining about a inch or two of height. What is wrong with the factory landing pads? Why not just make them wider if its an issue of them sinking. I'm baffled ???????

From my perspective, it is the metal feet have a tendency to slide around on gravel and concrete while they sink into grass and dirt.

I always use a 12x12x2 wood pad under the stabilizers and front landing gear.
Getting to be a PITA as I get older crawling under the camper to set and retrieve them. I had originally thought of putting screw eyes in the side and using an awning hook to push them in and pull them out; but OC's idea intrigued me. It moves the pads from the truck bed to exactly where they need to be.

Not trying to gain height, in fact with the Lynx blocks I lost about 3/8"-1/2". Originally wanted something to keep the pads from leaving rust spots on the concrete and increase the footprint on soft ground. The wood worked great for 5 yrs, but was in need of replacement, so this is what resulted from all but one suggestion on the forum. Light weight, rustproof, rot proof and longevity (I hope) and self storing.
