2012 GT3 Dvd player

We tried to play dvd's for the 1st time in FL this winter and lo and behold, it won't play anything. Everything else works but the dvd player. It loads and then does nothing. Tried 10-12 dvds that work in the tv/dvd unit we put in the bedroom but they will not work in the GT3. Has anyone taken the unit out and taken to a repair shop? All FR will do is sell a new one for over $500 + and another $100 for a wire kit. Not worth it to us.

I know you probably already know this, but did you check to make sure it's plugged in? Seen both my GT2 and my B-I-L's Jensen wired wrong from factory. Cables were plugged into the input on both sides instead of output to input.

Haven't checked anything, the dvd is an internal component. All the speakers work, tv works, satellite works, roof antenna works, everything works fine, the dvd even says it's loading the dvd but just displays the beach scene.

Oh, OK. If you're getting the beach scene, then at least the right cables are in place. I've seen them where there was no video from the unit to the Tv because it was plugged into the wrong jack in the back of the player.
