2014 Mustang

I have never been a big fan of the Mustang even though I was present at the 1964 launch at the Worlds Fair ( I was 4 years old) , I must say that the 50th anniversary , 2014 redesigned Mustang looks kinda sharp. The only drawback in my opinion, is the front fascia looks like the Fusion. It's a nice look, but not distintive from other fords in the line up. Probably won't buy one, but I think I may kick the tires and test one out in the spring.

Ford gives Mustang new look, still with plenty of muscle as it turns 50; plans for global push | The Chronicle Herald

Been a Mustang guy for many moons. Gus, pictured below is our eighth. I like the new one, but Gus is pretty special and should stay in the corral for many years. Many good hill country drives with our granddaughter who says she wants it some day. That will probably happen...

Nice CS Scratch! I have an '08 with less than 12K miles on it. I have over 18K into above what I paid for it. Been a fun project. Bit of an older picture below.

However, I'm liking the new rear facia of the 2014.

Thanks Gregg. You also have one sweet Stang; that shade of red is awesome.

Gus (an 07 model) is now pushing 68k miles, but gets lots more garage time and TLC since I retired... Hasn't been driven in the rain or inclement weather over the past couple years.

Totally agree on the rear facia Are you giving thought?

All ford cars look like aston martin in the front. Don't complain tho as the new vette looks like a camaro from behind, and it costs considerably more.

I'm not sold yet. To me it looks like a fusion and a 350z put together. The current 5.0's are awesome. Here is a pic of my 5.0. An oldie: 1993 5.0 Coupe 5-spd Reef Blue. Currently being transformed into a restomod. Car was in bad shape when I got it. Hopefully out on the roads next summer. This is my 3rd 5.0.

I like it. Can't find it now, but I believe motor trend reported the turbo 4 to be good for 300 horses. Sounds like they might have revived the svo department. I'm looking forward to reading the reviews and seeing one in person.

Always been a big fan of the pony cars. I have owned 3. My last one was a 02 convertible GT which was totaled when DW was rear ended when she was making a left turn. Maybe a GT500 for a retirement gift is in my future

Holding judgement till I see the "New" Mustang in the flesh...........

By far the most fun car I have ever driven is the 86 SVO Mustang 4 cyl turbo (DW hates it Its too old school for her no hydraulic clutch) The 66 289 Rag top is nice but the SVO will run circles around it......... The SVO was overpriced & ahead of its time......... but a blast to drive would run easily with the 5.0s ...... So I would hope the new 4 cyl would do the same or better............

Love those Mustangs. I also have one tho she went through the Iowa flood of 2008 with water up to her windows, 15 gal of water in her engine (along with being full of oil). Still rebuilding her AGAIN. Every time I get her close to being restored something happens, rear ended, someone runs a red light, now flood.
She is a 1965 200 Ci 6 cyl, non synchro low 3 speed trany slowly restoring her AGAIN. Will have pics this spring right now to much snow to uncover her. Did I mention that I am the 3rd owner? Original engine, trans, interior for now, colors going back to original also, Wimpelton white with palomino interior,

I bought an 86 stang, second biggest POS I ever bought.
4 banger with auto, lost the rear end first pinion bearing , then the heater core went to leaking.
After six months it started suckin more oil than gas, bad head gasket.
Then the air pump, the starter and then the shifter lock out broke.
Never so glad to dump this off at the scrap yard.

Had to chime in

We just got a 2014 365saq sirrea and im new to the forum. Have a 1983 5.0 I re-did and took me 7 years to finish. Its heavily modified. It kinda freaked me out when i saw the 2015 body style. it looks so different. My fav is the 1st run on the boss 302 retro look in 2005.

I meant 2015 in my previous post. That rear facia looks cool. I'd like to have the new Coyote engine but I have so much money (and time) into mine I'll keep it.

It's never seen snow and I live in Northern Minnesota. Garaged before the snow flies. Only comes out after the salt is off the road. Only been in a couple rains. I have a lift and wash the under carriage. Anal huh?
