Saftey chain....lol...what irony...
And people get upset when Wal-Mart bans rvs from parking there......
Hope they make it where ever they are going..... (assuming that they have somewhere to even go)

When I lived in Houston, I saw all kinds of very dilapidated vehicles heading south towards Mexico. Folks from Mexico would come to Houston, hit the car auctions and convoy the vehicles south. Used to see groups of 20 or more cars stopped on the side of the highway while one of the cars was repaired. The cars thought were either better than what was available in some areas of Mexico, or were going to be parted out and junked. I would guess that someone got a real deal on this 'RV', has it full of stuff inside, on top and in the trailer, and plans to sell the stuff and gut the RV. Seeing the car convoys heading to Mexico made me very thankful for what I had.

I've seen those convoys heading to Mexico from as far north as Oklahoma City.

Yep, those convoys are still very active in Arizona. As far as I can tell, they hit an auction in California and creep along I-10, using heading south towards Douglas, AZ at Hwy 90. I've seen a few truck campers, and once an old VW camper in the group, but never anything this big.

At least they aren't stealing the vehicles and bringing them to Mexico.

The ones that are stolen usually disappear in late afternoon; just enough time to get over the border before it closes for the night, or overnight, just in time to be first over the border when it reopens. Either way, they are far into Mexico by the time they are reported stolen and gone forever.
