A slide out in a slide out

I never knew these existed. Some relatives looking to buy an rv and ran across this. It's in a heartland cyclone fifth whelel toy hauler.

Is that going out the back of the RV or the side? If out the side, I've been in a lot of campgrounds where that would put your slide several feet into the neighbor's site!! Or, did they use one of those fancy lenses to make it look deeper than it is?

Yes. Saw the first one in an RV magazine about a year ago. Also saw one with the door from outside in the slide.

It's going out the side. Out the back its a toy hauler with a porch. But yes I agree. I have seen too many place where that slide would go out over top f the service hookups and onto the next lot.

IMO, it's up to the owner to make sure their slides don't encroach on other people's sites no matter what the depth of the slide.

Not that every one uses common sense...

Agree, but even then I could see where you run into problems at, for example, the Michigan state parks along the shoreline. They are basically parking lots with units stacked side by side.
I've not been brave/desperate enough to stay at one of them, but have driven by and saw numerous units that couldn't even deploy awnings because they were so tightly packed in there.

IMO, it's still up to that owner to stay within the confines of their site. I've been at places that I couldn't put my awning out, so I didn't.

So, if you have an extra deep slide, you choose where to camp based on that. My guess, however, is that the inner slide is separately controlled from the outer slide AND that the floorplans are useable without the inner slide being deployed.

Saw one similar at a show a few months ago. It's camera angle. Both slides together are about 5.5' deep.

Don't deploy it all the way. Leave one or the other in.
Unless they won't work individually, then that's poor design.
