I would pour concrete with an anchor ring recessed in it. Place another ring on frame of RV. Then use short Cain and a binder to place tension. . This is how equipment is tried down on trailers.

Weezer, take some advice from a guy who has been through some hurricane winds. I've a had two fivers in the past, both rode through hurricane winds. Both were just parked on my driveway sitting on the tires and the front jacks. No damage to either one. They were somewhat protected by a large oak tree, which by the way lost a huge branch that almost landed on one of them. I would guesstimate the strongest winds were 85ish.
These campers are designed to handle highway speeds.

Great question and with the news from NC this week camping and storms just don't mix. We full time so just letting insurance cover the damage is fine but this is our home so anything we can do to not have a loss is important. I don't know of a way to protect our MH but I do know that we will be checking for the safest place to take cover in the campgrounds we are at.

Phil, I usually ask or check myself in each park we stay. From what I gather, the bathhouses in most campgrounds are the safest place to be when bad weather threatens.

Good point and I guess that's where we will head if needed.

Thanks Campin Cajun
I just kinda got the vapors watching Buffy "wiggle" out there the other evening. We always keep the stabilizers down when she's docked here. It was the front (those tall buffalo shoulders stand above the privacy fence) that moved a bit. Maybe a couple extra turns on the tripod would block that up better.
I've never had the "meh, it's insured" mentality. I detest dealing with insurance companies and try to avoid the words "due diligence" and "mitigate damage".

As what unfortunately happened in Virginia shows, there is little you can do...

That's awful. I had said it was NC in a earlier post and was of coarse Virginia. Prayers out the families. Could be anyone anytime.

Watch this video, and NO one was injured in this one. This happened June 9th this year in Colorado:
Damage at RV Park After Tornado Hits Town of Lake George
Rolled one of the big boys!

Nothing stops Mother Nature. Don't matter how big a 5er or MH they are no match for weather like that. Scary video.

We don't have the "meh, it's insured mentality." But seriously you can't worry about everything otherwise your gonna have a ulcer. What's gonna happen is gonna happen take precautions and let it be.

And also Weezer, I cut all the pine trees down around my house. I'm sure you have more pines than I do though.
