Our kids don't go camping with us any ore cause we drink too much when camping and never bring enough food. Just kidding.
First thing before we leave, put a 30-pack in the fridge at home. Put a 30-pack in the cooler in the RV, add a bottle of Kettle One, a bottle of Captain Morgans and some various mixers, limes and whatnot. Pack the food in the fridge, lots of meat, cheese and eggs.
Then we go camping, check-in, get the site and pull or back in. Get out of the truck, crack open a beer and look around. Finish the first beer and then place the RV where we want if to stay. Once in place, crack open another beer. Chock blocks, beer. Disconnect, beer. Stabilizers, beer. Electric, water, beer. Sewer hose? Nah, that can wait til tomorrow, where's my beer? Then we sit down and drink a beer while we watch others set up.
Later on, we walk around with a beer and check out the other RV's. When we get back to the campsite, we have a beer and break out the firewood. Time for some appetizers and beer, then we can decide what to cook for dinner or maybe we will just have beer. If we end up eating dinner, when we are finished eating, we st around the campfire and drink beer.

I love your first line about not bringing enough food. I had to pause the TV and read that to DW, we both had a good laugh
I think the reason we drink more while camping is because we know, neither of us has to leave and go anywhere. When you know you don't have to get behind the wheel, don't have to go to work and answer anybody the next day, can do what you want when you want, it just seems to make them go down so much smoother!

I'll be sure to stop by while your setting up. We could go through a 12 pack before you even get level. I hope we don't show up at the same time, it might be Tuesday before we get the slides out.

Good taste in beer (from a Wisconsinite). I'm with the rest of most of you. Some times it's whiskey but nothing like cracking a beer when you are setting up because it is so much easier.
This year, we are going to be seasonal. This is how I see my trips happening. Drive up to site, get out, unlock camper door, head to the fridge, beer. Honey! Did you get the kids out of the car yet? Well maybe not that last part if I want to stay out of trouble but it sure will make life a whole lot easier being parked all the time with no setup.

We also don’t drink much at home. Get to a camp site and we share 4 or 5 beers (Bud select 55s) each day. If the campground has a bar with an outdoor sitting area, may visit them for a beer too, in the afternoon if it’s nice out. Because we tend to camp off season, with an older crowd, we don’t see a lot of people with campfires, sitting around having beers, wine, or drinks in the evenings. Lots of watching TV and going to be early by our neighbors. TVs, satellite dishes, cell phones, internet connections, DVDs, and cable connections have changed the way people camp.

As full timers, we try to have what we'll need for dinner that night. If it's an overnighter, my first stop is for fuel - before hooking up again. When we do go out, it's usually to a grocery store for meats and produce, WM for other stuff.

We have a seasonal site where we have our 10 yr old 30' Cougar permanently parked. We also have a shed where we have a fridge just for beer and pop which is usually full through out the summer months. I also like a good single malt scotch after a beer or three so there's always a 40 of that around plus vodka for the wifes paralyzers
We also have friends who have their 5th wheel parked on our lot most of the time as well so most weekends turn into one heck of a good time. They also have a Margarita machine so we're into making a lot of different tropical drinks as well [ Bahama Mamas,Hurricanes, Pina Coladas] plus one drink that we kind of invented on our own which we call a Frankie Bananas [ 2 oz Baileys, 2 oz Dark Rum, 2 oz Kahula, 1 banana and 5 oz Pina Colada mix] [/IMG]
Our site.

the booze stays at home when we go camping(what little there is at our house). We prefer a nice coffee in the evening and nice cold water during the day.

When it comes down to adult type beverages in my house you have two choices.
Drink mine or bring your own.
If you bring yours bring enough for your stay.
As both add unneeded weight.
I do not mix.
I do not ice.
Life is short lets not complicate it.

We like to go to Colorado and stay at an elevation of 10,500 feet. The older I get the harder the altitude is on me. My wife has me on a plan, first night one beer, second night two.... by the time I get to a sixpack it's time to come home.

The local KOA I go to regularly has a wine tasting room on the premise. They sell all of the local Hudson Valley Wines in the area. That makes it very convenient!!!!

As long as there is electricity/water to brew the coffee for me and the frig is cooling the Pepsi/water and the icemaker working for TOWTA, we're sitting perfect. Anybody wants something else, it's strictly BYO.

We make our own wine from kits so we always have plenty of bottles with us and so far haven't been stung for duty crossing over the border with it. Last year, for a refreshing drink, we discovered the likes of 'frozen Mikes Hard Lemonade' ( other brands are also available) that come in a variety of flavours. Just stick them in the freezer for a few hours until they go slushy. Very refreshing and if you spike them up a little with some vodka, most relaxing. I believe they're about $2 each at Wal-Mart and can actually come in their frozen state. I prefer these over beer to 'relax' with because I find the beer way too gassy and bloaty.
