Awning Pole Attaching Kit

Thinking of putting together a kit of 2 upper brackets, 2 lower brackets, 2 ss bolts/locknuts, hitch pins and rivets. How many if any would be interested in something like this. All you would have to do is get painters telescoping poles and make your own hold downs.

I would, and I haven't even installed the kit I have yet. Wouldn't mind having another set of the brackets just in case I need them later, or want to help out one of the inlaws should they want this set up.

At least in Heaven, RVs will be perfect, and I won't have to keep fixing them.

When and if I decide to assemble them, I will put the post in the ad section. Just trying to get a feel for it.

After the last fiasco with shipping complete pole kits, don't want to go thru that again. Too old and too lazy and FT Turbs just sat in Iowa and did nothing!

Just ordered all the hardware for 50 kits. Should have it by the middle to the end of next week. Brackets ???. Stay tuned, will post a thread when the complete kits are ready.

I'm interested. Searched and found your pics. Very simple yet effective setup. Looks very durable and the self storing in definitely a big plus.

looking at them now. Definitely a possibility with your hardware kit. I would go with a shorter length though. Awning will never be 20ft high, I hope. I normally keep mine just high enough to walk under, but low enough for maximum shade.

Probably have to cut them off, but on some MH's they are quite high. Problem would be in the 'stow' position.

they have them in 4-8 and 6-12 lengths also. I'm thinking 6-12, since it will never be set lower than that, and wouldn't have to extend to far, so would maintain good strength.

6'-12' should be good for practically everyone including MHs.

OldCoot, what are the brackets made of in the kits you put together?

6061 T6 alum, get it from Butler Built Mfg that makes the high $ seats for Nascar, WoO sprints, etc.

I'm wondering if a nylon set would be sturdy enough. Since they are made for boat tops and they see more wind than I ever want my awning to see. Reason being is I want black, since my TT is all brown and black.

If they telescope, I don't see why they wouldn't work. I've used electrical pvc for some and FT Turbs uses emt for his poles.

Even though I made a set of PVC ones that I carry everywhere, I would be interested in a set of brackets, possibly 2 when my camping buddy finds out!
