Back in the olden days

Anybody remember the name 'Wally Byam'? He used to put together huge Airstream convoys and travel the world. With what we wouldn't even consider for a tow vehicle these days. Their favorites were International Harvester trucks and carryalls.

Back in the early 60's and until they passed my parents belonged to the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI). Pulled with a Chevy truck and had the Honda sport 90 on the back bumper of the trailer. We were on the go all the time. It was great fun.

Our first RV. Pulled by a Pontiac Tempest which we replaced with an International Travelall. This was July 4th 1971 on east coast of Florida just north of Marineland where the original road had been washed out and replaced inland. A few of us camped on the beach for the weekend. Imagine that today. This area is now Palm Coast. The good days in old Florida were just coming to an end at that time.
