i wander down to the shower house with swim trunks, tshirt, flip flops towel and shower items. there usually isnt any place dry to put your clean clothes without them falling on the floor and looking like your dirty clothes.

Thumbs down Location

The location of this RV park is the reason why. This place is a dump and should be avoided at all times. Pacific Coast RV Resort is actually Pismo Dunes RV Resort. The reporter could not even get the name correct! We tried to stay there once and will never go back again. We only live aobut 20 minutes away and thought we would try out for a possible rally location.
Never.
Long term residents, bad management. Just a gravel parking lot with human trash and not near the beach at all. Have to drive anywhere to get anywhere.
Avoid this place!

ROFLMAO

So I take it that the robbers made a clean getaway.

There are two issues here in my opinion:

1) The country as a whole is changing to be a more violent place. Why this is happening is open to debate and that is a fact. Social, economic, political, it does not matter in the short run. When it comes to protecting yourself and your family, the onus falls on you and your family. Be aware of your surroundings and be aware of potential threats. The days of the cop on the beat and 99.999% of the population being law abiding good citizens has ended. There are far more "wolves" today than sheepdogs to protect the flock. As the said on MSNBC yesterday, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

2) Campgrounds used to be the safest place on earth. Campers were on vacation and the guy or gal next to you wanted what you wanted; peace and quiet - a pleasant experience. We watched each other's back; if it started raining, we put the neighbors chairs under their camper so they would not get wet.

Today, there are folks who have lost their homes living full time in their camper at campgrounds. Many (not all obviously!) feel disenfranchised and angry at the world for their situation.

This is a cautionary tale. We may not be as safe as we were in the past.

Another great reason to use the facilities in the RV and not the CG.

I'm NOT about to use the parks facilities!

Haven't used any RV parks shower since we upgraded from our canvas tent 25 years ago.

I hear ya! There are some members here that only use the CG facilities because they fear getting their RV black/grey tank dirty What ever floats your boat I guess It is still a free country, mostly.

I have to voice a vote for the use of the shower building.

Since I dry camp a LOT when in Florida, showering in the shower building is a reality. I hate using the rest facility there, but sometimes that hot needle shower is "to die for." I have no problem driving the honey wagon to the dump station when I need to but shower water is a wasted trip, IMO.

I never take valuables in there, but THIS is always in my shaving kit.

not afraid to get my black/grey tanks dirty, but when we (family of 4) camp we go from 3 baths at home to one in the camper. sometimes its just faster to make the walk.
