Bee stings

Anyone have good advise on how to get the swelling out of a bee sting. Yesterday I got stung by a bee (not a wasp) right on the neck in the juggler vein. Found out I'm not allergic to them but my neck has swollen up 1" x 2" and itches like hell. DW did pull out the stinger but need something to stop this itching nothing seems to be working. Benadryl has become my friend. Thanks in advance

I saw a note on Facebook that aloe is supposed to help. Back when I did landscaping (for a single summer as a teen), my boss carried meat tenderizer and would make a paste out of it for bee stings.

Or it could be wildly made up.

This is dangerous when you have neck swelling. Have you been to the doctor? You may need steroid help. In the meantime anti inflammatory like Motrin, continue with benadryl, if too sleepy with benadryl you can try a different antihistamine but benadryl is best. Ice can help with swelling. I have seen icthamol (used on horses) help as an old farmhand cure but will not swear by it (and the stuff smells really bad).

I highly recommend a call to your doc/urgent care/ER. Swelling like that in your neck can lead to airway problems

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.... if you have any trouble breathing or any sign of stroke (compression on that area of the neck can cut down on blood flow to brain) call 911.

Well seen the Doc and all is good, he prescribed some antibiotics, because of the knot in my neck, swelling has started to go down. Thanks for all that responded.

Kinda late now but the old timers used to put chewed tobacco on the sting. Nicotine numbed the pain quickly I guess? Grandma even chewed up some cigarette tobacco once to make it gooey and held it on my sting. Worked.
