Question best time to order fifth wheel

interested in what anybody might think when it comes to ordering a new 36ckts fifth wheel....is it better to order when they are less busy to help with maybe less mistakes being made....what time of year? We live in the Midwest

Thanks, Larry & Kim

Yes, it only helps lessen mistakes when the factory crew isn't all balls to the walls trying to pump out inventory!
We did a late summer order for our last fifth wheel and was very satisfied only to come across minor build issues

I agree with poboy. I would think around August or September would probably be ideal order time. Only thing is you have ti look at it all winter.
But we ordered our sabre last mid February, and we didnt get it till the end of may. I think our rep screwed up, but anyways.
Usually the new model years(at least on the vin) seem to come out in march-ish, while other changes like apholstery, trim, flooring etc seems to change around Sept -Oct , at least from what I've noticed.
Good luck!!!
We've ordered 2 campers and ordering is always exciting !!

Order rv time

I would not order the fifth wheel during the months when snow is on the ground. Here is why!

I ordered my fifth wheel (ROCKWOOD) during the month of late November
that was delivered in late January. When it was delivered there was 6" of
snow on the ground in Indiana and Ohio (place of pickup). Due to the salt
that is used on the roads in the two states listed, my running gear (axles)
and under carriage was full of bad rust from the salt. The complete bottom
of the fifth wheel had to be pressure washed, chemical treat the rusty surface and repaint the complete under carriage and stabilizer jacks to stop the rust.

This would be my strong suggestion about when to order and take delivery!

Daisy, that was my thinking too when i ordered mine. I didn't want it hauled with all the posibility of snow/salt.
But i payed the price with a longer wait because of how busy they were, but im ok with that... now, wasnt very happy at the time when week 15 came and went and still no camper.
