Phographing Amish

So as to not disturb the Amish religious values (might consider it their pet peeve), here's an explanation about why they don't want their pictures taken.

How the Lancaster Amish view photography & having their picture taken.

For all the reasons mentioned, we camp in the bush, where there is nothing but fresh air, trees and some friends. Sometimes we have to listen to idiots firing off their weapon of choice, and other idiots who weren't taught any manners when traveling near campsites with their dirt bikes, quads, 4 wheel bush buggies, etc by speeding through raising dust and having no regard for the possibility of kids being there. Damn, I was in a good mood when I started my retort.

I'd have to say my biggest pet peeve of all is snow birds driving their RV's during rush hour while I'm trying to get to work. LOL

Ha! Considering that the majority of them are in rush hour when they are usually driving back home to IN or MI... I'd say PP. Because I get to stay here in paradise.

LOL - your answer brings up a slightly off topic question- that being where do people who live and work in Florida go when they retire?

Our plan is to buy property in Roatan. Spend half of the year there, and half of the year on a boat.

Either that or just travel the country in our (future) Class A.

Wow. Why do all you go camping then??? Sounds like a waste of time if your gona be that miserable around other people. Go to the woods with just your family, that way no one wonders thru your campsite, no dogs bark, no diapers changed on picnic tables, no pot smoking or loud generators. No smoky fires or drunks. No partying past midnight or diesels running at 0500. No loud Celine Dion music and no kids screaming.
There, got that out of my system. Happy Camping!

Don't think that's what everyone is saying, just for others to be considerate of other people. Something like the Golden Rule?

Umm... I'd still have a few of those if it were just my family and friends.

Very true. When I'm in the woods I do all these things but I can't get mad at myself haha

Sometimes I get peeved with gardening. Stupid deer. But I still love it.

Sometimes I even get peeved with my DW. Still love her too....

It's just a vent, and apparently some pet peeves are that other people complain. I get that too. Whiners need not come to my campfire. But people letting off the occasional steam about pet peeves - yah sure. Ya just gotta listen to mine too.

So I guess that's my pet peeve - people who only want to tell you their peeve and not listen to yours.

Hopefully when you're in a campground it gets toned down a bit.

Let them get out their energy while OUTSIDE, and then they'll relax in the evening and morning during quiet hours.
Yup, another of my PPs, parents who send their kids out to ride their bikes around the campground, and around, and around, and around.
