Finally had to take the big step. I had a total hip replacement on 1/13. It got so painful last year, camping and set up was no fun. I do worry about the restrictions on bending, twisting etc.. Looking for any tips or modifications to help me adjust to the new camping. Current Flagstaff does have power tongue jack, awning and slide. Also has 4 corner power levelers.
I have had both of my hips replaced. I don't really have any restrictions other than it is a little hard to get up after kneeling due to some nerve damage during the first replacement. I carry a small plastic step stool or I use a five gallon bucket to push against when trying to stand. Lifting heavy items does not bother me as long as I don't try walking around with them (because of nerve damage).
Still use the tool for putting on socks.
Good luck with your new hip; best thing I ever did having them replaced.
My wife has had both hips and knees replaced. The only thing she will not do is kneel. You have to keep up with the physio. Do not cross your legs. A friend did that and his hip popped out. It had to be replaced again, eventually. I'm sure you will develop ways and means to do things that won't do damage.
We got a set of ramps to get mom in and out of the RV. It worked really well. You might have to get mule to push it in but mom sure loved sliding out :-) !!!
