Bring it IRENE!!!!

After surviving the "Big One" yesterday now we are bracing for Irene. Bought a generator(been wanting one anyways) topped off the freshwater tank and filled my propane tanks today. I'm ready for ya.... I think a little backyard camping while waiting for the power to come back will be fun

Hope your earth quake insurance policy coverage is better than it is here in California... I was so surprised about how little it actually covers.

the problem people ran into here was gas for the gen. lot of the power wasn't restored for a week or more. gas wasn't easy to come by (unless u were willing to drive north or east abt 40 miles.
if u left the area, u couldn't return unless u had a badge identifying u as essential personnel. u could drive thru the city on the interstate but the exits were guarded. (u could get around that by coming in on a non major route).

i believe my hurricane deductible is 5% of total amt of insurance. they define hurricane as a "named storm". i wish i could tell u if that was in addition to the standard deductible. i was just happy to get insurance.

OK, I know this is late, but we had no power for a week. We were so thankful for our tailer. Hot showers and food. Our generator keep our house frig going so we did not loose any food, unlike many of our neighbors. We have a great water company that takes care of our wells, so we had water, they brought in a huge generator. It was the cel phone companies that let us down. Cel service was nothing for all the major carries, but Life was good!! This is the reason we had no power for a week.
