Tomorrow we are heading over to the Coles Creek Campground at Carlyle Lake in Illinois for 4 nights of camping. This will be our first time at this campground and we're looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Dam West Campground at Carlyle.

On the 13th or 14th we are heading out to Colorado for a couple of weeks. Being retired is soooo tough.

Oakman:

When you make it to Texas don't miss Fredericksburg, a German settled town and home of Admiral Nimitz and near LBJ Ranch, Johnson City and Luchenbach.

Fredericksburg, Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luckenbach, Texas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Texas State Capital in Austin (mostly Underground!) and Lake Travis RV Parks
near Austin.

And since you're from MO can you recommend a park in Branson?

Chuck

We have so many trips already planned for this year that Texas will have to wait for next year.

The only park I can recommend in the Branson area is Table Rock State Park, especially if you can snag one of the full hookup sites. Itís a popular park so getting reservations can be difficult. Itís close enough to the shows, itís on the lake, and it offers a camping experience.

If your planning on visiting Silver Dollar City, Indian Point Campground, a COE park is a good choice if you donít need full hookups.

Iím really not a fan of most of the commercial parks Iíve stayed at or driven through in the Branson area. You might check rvparkreviews.com to see what others recommend.
Compton Ridge was just OK, ABC campground was just OK, Tall Pines and Wilderness campgrounds I didnít care for. Branson Lakeside RV park is on Taneycomo Lake right in Branson and Branson Landing is right next door. Great if your into shopping and like parking lots.

The one park I definitely would NOT stay at is Lakeview Campground on Indian Point Road. The entrance road to that campground is incredibly steep and causes many trailer to scrape, the sites are too close also.
