Here is one that was mentioned in another forum.
What about renting (per hour) one of the portable honey wagons. This especially if your campground doesn't have FHU on all sites. I know a lot of people carry their own but I see a lot that don't & I am sure people would pay $10 to empty their tanks. On a good week you could probably pay for one in a couple of days.

Whew.....Lots to stock as others have said. As a personal favor having needed this twice last year and having to drive to the closest town and search because the camp store didnt have it...

Children -Infant Motrin/Tylenol. Children Benadryl as well. You will make some family very happy. I would have paid 100 a bottle when we needed it most.

Disney's Fort Wikderness had this at their "camp store" and yes we paid a premium for it and yes it was worth it.

Good call!

X3 on that. I had to pick up a bottle when we were in Disney (Pop Century, not FW).

Generally I would list them this way in order of preference:

1) Ice and Firewood

2) Emergency items (Medicine, bandaids, etc...)

3) RV related items (As listed above, things like hoses, fuses, etc..)

4) Sundries (TP, kleenix, paper plates, disposable silverware, garbage bags etc...)

5) Camping related items (fire tongs, grill, folding chairs, lighters, matches, waterproofing kits, rope, etc...)

6) RV Beautification (decorations, awning lights, etc..)
6) Keep kids busy items (Squirt guns, Frisbee, balls, dollar store junk I can't manage to walk past without the daughter saying "Daddy, daddy, daddy! I want this!")

(Yes those two are tied for 6th place)

7) Convenience foods (Condiments, smore's kits, bread, milk, chips, etc... Watch for expiring food only if you can move it. Things like bread and milk will need a high turnover rate, condiments on the other hand have a longer shelf life)

8) Tourist items (T shirts, post cards, mugs, etc...)

9) More robust grocery selections (again, only if you think you can move them.)

10) Alcohol (only if properly licensed)

The ideal is to start small, but still have enough to keep the space from looking too empty. Then as your camper's request stuff, make a note of it and try to have it on the shelf next time.

I was at at a KOA where they sold locally made fire starters made from cedar chips and candle wax. I have seen these and made them myself with dryer lint. I would say these are good low investment items to sell.

X6 With beer the other stuff ain't so important. LOL OHhhh and some decent jerky and other local snacks.

Let's face it.. for sundries and the like.. just about anyone will make a trip to wallyworld. Concentrate on the impending needs that folks don't mind spending a little extra for to save a drive.

These are sooo easy to make. I make them 10-20 at a time and end up giving them away.

You can also use paper egg crates to make them. They work great

Tylenol for all the headaches it sounds like your going to get with all the ordering. The best advice I could give in this would be visit another camp store somewhere else and ask them if you can look around and tell them what your doing. The owner will more than likely be happy to help you. If you look at most KOA's they have a good handle on what they need. If I was putting one in the big draw would be an Ice cream window that alone will keep you busy .

DW says "jewelry including a nice assortment of chocolate diamonds, cappuccino, gormet chocolate, pink Zinfandel and muscato, day spay with mani-pedicures and deep tissue masseuse. That'll keep her occupied for the first day. Lol.
Really tho, looks like you got a good list started here. Best of luck.

Alabama State Park sold beer at their camp store on the mountain. I fell in love.

Head office dictates what items have to be in stock at KOA's. If the owner does not have all the items in stock they loss points during their annual inspection.
