Friday night around 8:30 about 9 cars cruised past our waterfront site, proceeded 100 yards past my BIL's site and headed up into the hills. Little while later you could hear commotion of tents being set up with a call of, "we're going to party all night long!" Oh boy, I thought; this is not good.
Right around 9:45 you could see flashlights going through the woods towards the beach area. There was then a call for "basses here, altos there".
At 9:50 came The National Anthem followed by America the Beautiful and another patriotic song, all sung in perfect harmony. The whole park, sitting in darkness around campfires gave enthusiastic applause. These hooligans turned out to be some kind of choral group. Show ended shortly after 10:00 and I presume they retired to hot chocolate around the campfire.
We were also serenaded Saturday and Sunday nights. During the day on Sunday I was out in my kayak when part of the group set sail from the beach in 2 canoes (each holding 5) plus an escort of kayaks. They then launched into a couple stanzas of Row-Row-Row Your Boat while they traveled up the lake.
This was like camping in a Norman Rockwell painting. Maybe not a remarkable story, but I thought others may get a kick out of it.
