Well i guess I should have double checked all threads before posting. I figured it was a recent video so I was safe. Doesn't look like it has been beaten to death yet though.

Well, the Landrover is in 4X4 mode, and the Ram is in 2WD.
A Volkswagen could tow a Superduty Ford also, once it's tires start spinning......

Sliding friction versus rolling friction. Same reason ABS is a better method of stopping than locking the wheels.
Driving techniques of the drivers has a lot to do with this, not to mention amount of down force on the points of thrust. Looks like the Brit is in AWD, the Fiat (Dodge) is in 2 WD which equated to 1 WD if the rear dif is not limited slip.
I'd love to see a physics teacher use this as a class project.
The Dodge still out classes the Rover as a tow vehicle in overall comparison.

Where would you put the hitch in the Land Rover?

Folks in the UK would consider this a dumb question. A Land Rover Defender (90" wheelbase, 3,5L V8) is rated to tow 5000 pounds. A Range Rover can tow 10,000 pounds. My '03 Kia Sedona, rated for 3500 lb in the US is rated for 6600 lb in Europe (same 3.5 V6 and 5-speed auto).
Are US drivers so much more incompetent that their European counterparts or is it the chicken-poop insurance companies imposing the US limits?

Land Rover pulling 15000 lbs trailer.
I'm sure it would pull it on flat land. However, in Arizona, one trip down Salt River Canyon in the Land Rover with a 15000 lbs. trailer chasing you would be quite stressful, until you bailed out and the parachute opened.
