Lou - do you or any others belong to the Mohawk Association? The reason for asking is that a very good friend of mine (he's a retired FAA inspector who flew the Mohawk in Vietnam) belongs to it. Maybe you might know him or vice versa.

Thanks.

Went to pilot training with a former Mohawk crew member (not all were pilots as the right seat crewman was normally an enlisted observer/flight engineer/crew chief).

I am not a member of the Mohawk organization.

Javanb - your forgiven. Didn't get to ride backseat often. Loved carrier ops. Hated it when no one told me about stepping on the logo in the flight ops room. Cost me some bucks.
Most of the test pilot I worked with were great. Nothing bad to say about any one of them. Lost a few good friends - not in test aircraft but by flying other stuff on their days off.
I actually had more issue with my first test pilots in the Apollo Program. Was lucky to get the job (with a team of about 30 people) in training all the Apollo astronauts to land on the moon. Some of those guys were tough to work with. F-14, E-2C, X-29, Joint STARS and may others were great.

I supported the B-52 D, G and H model. Last on the BUFF was at Barksdale in 1997. The Arc Light Memorial in Guam has Tail #100 on display. I do miss a bunch of B-52s taxing down the ramp to takeoff during a Klaxton exercise.

I am a SAC trained practitioner!

I believe you're right on Tail #100 being the Guam Gate Guard.

The 52's taxing was called by some as "The Walk Of The Elephants." the walk was accompanied by the squealing of their brakes and a lot of noise and smoke.

You are a "SAC trained practitioner" - I was a SAC trained killer.

(this forum needs a salute gif!)

this one would work: Email Emoticons & Smileys
Yep, support is very important. Someone was always standing out there 24/7 to make sure no one could steal a B-52.
