CB radio ??

Kinda backing away from buying a CB now.

Considering spending the money on a trans temp gauge I've been wanting...

We don't have one now, but in our past Rv's we always did. Truckers are on channel 19 and are helpful if you are looking for a good price on diesel or why traffic has stopped. We had a sign on the back of our MH that said we where on Channel 13, I heard it was the RV channel. People did call us and give some great places to see and in some cases where to eat.

I think I will get another one.

We were cruising south bound on I-75, on our way back from Little Manatee river SP. I was in the right hand lane doing 65. As a 35 ft Cedar Creek 5er flew passed me on the left, it was obvious that one of the four bikes on the rear was not securley attached and was hanging down from the mount. I remarked to the DW how I wished I had some way to contact the driver and warn him of his problem.
A CB in both RVs would be a great thing to have in this situation, as long as both monitored the same channel. It just seems like a good way to communicate with fellow RVers on the road. I think I might consider getting one if I find enough others have them. How many use a CB? What channel do you monitor?

I have a CB that has saved me many times from sitting on an interstate behind an accident. I monitor it for road conditions and can get off on secondary roads and get around accidents. Also, towing a 5th., wheel with bikes on the back, if something goes wrong back there a trucker will give you a heads up. I don't like all the chatter but it has saved me many hours of sitting still on an interstate.

I have an Uniden PC68LTW, it has the weather band on it. I monitor channel 19. Got me out of a scrape or two.
