MillerTime,
I apologize for my un-informed numbers. The human toll was far greater than I knew. So what happened to the engineer?

Ok guys you are getting off track. Please keep it to the new vehicle being manufactured and a debate over recalls or one brand vs another. This is one last attempt by the site team to keep this thread open.

So I guess they are good for a tent and a bike rack

While I'm not a purchaser of GM products, I also would worry about quality from Chinese manufacturers. (Many years ago, I made a mistake of buying a small, 49cc, scooter that was made in China..total junk and I couldn't find a single motorcycle mechanic willing to work on it.)

But if Toyota can product quality vehicles in Mexico, maybe GM can also do it in China.

We will see!

It may be a world market but to manufacture in China you have to partner with a Chinese company. So much for protectionism being detrimental.

Also, if you think it doesn't matter where stuff is built, it hasn't cost you your job yet. As far as "outsourcing being good for America", I'm still waiting to see the benefits (beyond the increases in corporate profits).

Oh brother.....like no one could of anticipated where this was going to go.

Every major car manufacturer has a Chinese subsidiary or division. Love the Toyota in Mexico comment. How about Toyota in China?
