colorful camp fires

Mystical Fire Adds Colorful Flames to A Campfire 10 Packets | eBay

Have any of you ever tried this? I just bought a case of it.

My initial thought was that children will LOVE this!

(caution: do not cook over a fire you're using this in)

Weezer, I'm shaking my fist at you...........(as I place my bid on ebay).

I'm not sure I can afford to keep you as a friend, or at least read your posts.

LOL!

<ducking and running!

Don't place a bid, silly. Look at the buy-it-now listings with FREE shipping! You can get 10 packs for about $11.00, with free shipping. So quitcherbeachin'.

Can't wait to try these out Memorial Day weekend, and we won't even have any kids around....well....I take that back....DH will be there. To which he just responded: that's right!

Edited to add: TBH I thought of you and those young'uns of yours when I first saw this product. So tell 'em you got the idea from "Aunt Weezer". I've got a couple of packs here already that I got as samples, so if yours don't arrive in time for your next trip I'll hook ya up!

I have a feelin' our campfires will get a lot of looks and then tons of questions.

Have made colorful fires for years with two pieces of material. Slide it into the fire and makes shades of blues, greens, and orange for hours. The metal piece is reusable, just insert a new piece of materiel the next time you make a fire. Cost.... pennies or free if you can get this 'junk' before it is thrown in the trash.

Yes and no. Use three and the whole fire is color and used one before and you will get a few colored flames. Like anything in life more is better.

Take 6-8 inch long half inch piece of copper water pipe, drill 1/8 inch or so holes up and down and all around it. Take a 6-8 inch piece of old rubber garden hose that is no good anymore (any type or version will work) and slice it in half. Slide the garden hose half (any type) into the copper pipe and slide it into a campfire on one side and slide another premade pipe into the fire on the other side. In less than two minutes the whole campfire will be a rainbow of colors and will last more that an hour. The copper interjects with the rubber to cause some kind of reaction and flows through the teepeed wood. The pipes do not put out any black smoke or fowl smell. In the morning after the fire has cooled down, pull out your pipe and straighten the out the pipe. a very hot fire may distort them and after a few camp fires the copper pipe will become brittle and cave in, use as many times as you can. The burnt garden hose will still be in the pipe and will need to be knocked out. The next time you want a colorful fire reuse the copper pipe and insert a new (old) piece of garden hose. I have 6-8 pieces of pre-drilled pipes and a bunch of pre-cut hose in a bag stored away when needed.

I have seen at some RV store sell pine cones sprinkled with copper shaving and it does close (but not as good) the same thing.
