Death in Yellowstone: Accidents and Foolhardiness in the First National Park by Lee H. Whittlesey is a good, but perhaps morbid read for those of us who have winterized our RVs and are cooped up for the winter. There are lessons to be learned from reading the accounts of those who have perished in a variety of ways in Yellowstone NP.
The chapters concerning death from scalding and death from falls were very sad yet fascinating. This is the second edition of this book that chronicles deaths from the early days of the park up to 2012. The first edition only covered up to 1995.
The book can be purchased online at Amazon or Barnes and Nobles for $16.00.
