Dish network and tailgater

Has anyone tried to activate their tailgaters and found out their account has been deleted? Called them yesterday to get my tailgaters started for the year and they couldn't find my account. After 2 hours on the phone finally talked to someone that could get some answers. Come to find out "somebody " with dish network deleted thousands of accounts. I was told that I would have to buy another receiver to get my account going again. The guy told me they were getting hundreds of calls. They are suppose to call back today with a resolution maybe.

There's no reason for you to buy a receiver.
Someone doesn't know what there talking about.
All you should have to do is tell them your receiver serial number and have it added to your account.
Do u have dish @ home?

No, just the tailgaters for the 5er. The guy I talked to at dish said that he had talked to 3 different people there and that all said they would do nothing, even though it was their screw up. He even admitted he didn't agree and that it was VERY bad business.

BTW I asked the same question. Why can't they just setup a new account. I gave receiver number at least 30 times. He still said I needed a new receiver. Great way to make money!

Turbs, after the phone call today found out that some accounts have been moved to an old system that doesn't communicate with their present system (bs?) Don't know. They are trying to get my stuff back over and working. Will know this afternoon again. The guy I'm dealing with has been really helpful and apologetic but what a run around this has been. Only saving grace is I have my old account number and a lot of patience. I'll let you know
