The US Governement started the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY back in 2007.
It costs some ungodly amount to gather information on us like name address phone numbers into a big computer and suppose to stop unwanted calls on your phone.
Well every time I get a call I register a complaint on line in hopes it will help. Well after years and promised of big law suits I find out that any money they recover after their costs goes back into their budget and nothing to the consumer like it suppose to.
How many of you feel this is a waste of our tax payers money on a wasted noneffective and costly program? With broken promises like typical government.
Seems to work for me, but I am also pretty careful abut giving out my number in the first place, and I don't answer the phone at home anyway, nearly all calls go to voicemail so the one or two that appear to escape aren't a huge bother.
I'm not the type to run for the phone merely because its ringing.
It's completely useless. There are so many loopholes in the laws now so most complaints are ignored anyway. The latest way around the laws are the calls start out as a polical survey but what they are really doing is trying to sell solar systems, high interest credit cards or some other scam.
