Does anyone travel and use a metal detector?

I've always been interested in metal detecting and just wondered if others have detectors and seach where ever you travel.

What type of detector do you have?

What is your favorite coil? Sniper, Oval DD, Round Mono?

What do you look for? Coins, Relics, Gold, Artifacts?

Just curious to see where this thread goes.

Never got into it myself but met up with a guy one time that had in his pocket a really cool Civil War era coin that he had found in an old garbage dump in the area where a town used to be near us here.

Just curious though what the coolest thing you ever found was?
