I can understand a new trailer you simple can't wait for the first trip to use or the extraordinary times, like the water heater just blew up and the repair crew can't get there til Monday. But geez, to camp in your front yard just because, or to save on fuel, come on now, where is the fun in that. Anyone telling me of the fun they had while camped in the driveway, I'd think you completely off your nut!
Camping, RVing should have an element of adventure, seeing something worth spending time on, a visit to places that mean something, not the freakin driveway for cryin out loud!
Get real, seek out the adventure, spend some quality time with family, Travel near or far but at least travel, make it worth talking about, sharing with family & friends! Don't waste time sitting in your drive and calling it camping or RVing.

We driveway camp whenever one of our daughters visits with their friends or family. I had a 50 amp service put in this summer and use an extension cord to reach the cord on the motorhome. It's a way to make sure things are working for the next real campout too.

My opinion of so-called driveway camping has always been its not camping. Period

I LOVE the idea of inviting friends & family over to camp! But we'd camp to the side of the horse pasture. :0)

Our driveway ish camping (we live in the country) has a fire ring, water hook up, sewer dump and 30 amp service .
what more could a guy want when its not possible to get out for the whole weekend.
friends or family come over and we drag out the stereo system light the fire and kick back !
you guys don't know how to live !

No, every time I indulge my RV urge, it's real as rain, not fantasy!

Although - camping, like lays potato chips, one night in the camper is not nearly enough. Several nights out in the camper are far more satisfying.

We're "driveway" camping in ours right now before it's maiden voyage.
We are anxiously waiting to take off on our first trip, but camping at home is nice as well...
