Also, this is the first year that I am blessed with a granddaughter.
Just a quiet day tomorrow counting all of my blessings, a great son, daughter and granddaughter. Of course my DW. What will you be doing?

Oldest son is taking me out to breakfast. Very proud of both boys and so thankful for TOWTA! Wish my dad was still around so he could go with us. Oldest was named after my dad.

I too miss my Dad. I wish that he could go camping with me and my DW as he did love the outdoors and camping. Have fun and enjoy your breakfast.

Leaving the campsite by noon so we can meet DD and DS at home for a bar-b-q. Wish my dad was still around to, but the loving memories are still there.

Will do what we usually do almost every Sunday, go to Mom and Dad's for lunch. I'm 43, and blessed to still have both and close by. I try my best not to take them both granted.

When we lived in Moline, we would meet my mom & dad every other weekend @ Knoxville, IA and he would go to the sprint car races with us while mom stayed with the other women in our campers. We all had small trailers, 20' and less and mom & dad had the BIG 24' Coachmen. Did it for yrs until mom passed and then dad continued. We always had at least 6 families in a circle thanks to the cg ranger who wouldn't let anyone else take that hill. Loved it when dad came back from fishing in Canada and brought back a cooler full of walleye fillets. Always enough to feed 12-15 adults and 8 -10 kids.

I found a poem that I though appropriate for our fathers that have passed before us and thought that I would share.

In Our Hearts

© Rose de Leon
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

Unfortunately we will be in sd, but my dad came over before we left and I took him to dinner and I bought him a world of outlaw ticket for Eldora in July. . My son is with me so hoping to spend some quality time camping and enjoying the great outdoors.

It's a quiet weekend here in Middlebury for Cindy and me. We went out to breakfast and dinner and did some shopping yesterday on her birthday, and it's pretty quiet today. (Middlebury and Shipshewana pretty much roll up the sidewalks and put them away on Sunday.)

The kids are in MO, IL, SC, and GA (Jim & Janet also celebrated a wedding anniversary yesterday in SC). We heard from most of them yesterday. There are grandkids in all of those places, plus NY and MS.

Dad's been gone for 30 years this fall (that can't possibly be right!), and I miss him every day. He gave me my love of travel. He and Mom used to throw four boys into a car with no air conditioning and take off for a week or two every year. Dad's attitude was always, "This would be a great day to be starting on a trip somewhere!" Many years later, Mom told me, "I'm not sure what we were thinking. I guess we thought we were having fun, I don't know." We were, and I often wonder what Dad would have thought of traveling in an RV rather than a Chevy Impala. I can just imagine the smile.

Happy Father's Day to one and all!

We're on a Father's Day camping trip close by to home. Its been nice. DW made the reservation to depart tomorrow so I don't have a "day of labor" getting out of here today.

Tonight, we head over to my MIL's house where my parents will join us for a Father's Day cookout at the lake. My dad is in his mid-70's now and going strong so hope to have quite a few more of these days to share with him in the future!

Happy Father's Day to all of you!!

Love these stories. My Dad is gone a year ago Feb. He took us camping as kids, first in a cabin in Black Moshannon Nat. Forrest in Pa, then a tent, then a pop-up, then him and mom finally settled down in a TT in a park for the next 25 years. What great memories. Mom is 84 now and sometimes will visit us when were in the park that they had their TT in.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL !!!

My dad passed away 30 years ago.....and like you Bob, I can't believe it has been that long. I was in my early twenties. I missed having him with me for my wedding and birth of his grandkids. On Father's Day I especially spend time remembering him and thanking him! Thank you daddy and I love and miss you!

My dad passed when I was 20 years old. There are good memories though. Still hurts to read some of those posts. We'll see our son later today, here in Pinetop, AZ.
