Firestone Transforce HT Tires

Is anyone using these on their tow vehicle ? I currently have General Grabber AW tires but am having a hard time locating them. I replaced the front two last year. Now ready to replace back 4. I was looking at the Firestone tires but wanted to get others opinion of them. I am pulling a large 5th wheel over 14,000 lbs. Didn't know if having different tires on the front of the truck verses different tires on the back would cause any problems. They are basically nearly the same size except Firestone tires are 8.8 " wide and general tires are 9.3". Both have the same height

Just bought a set of Firestone Transforce HTs only have about 300 miles on them so far I like them, They were recommended to me by a friend who installs tires said Firestone and Hankook take the least amount of weight to balance.

IMHO as long as the rear 4 are the same size and brand what the front two are is of little consequences.

I am using the HT's on my F350 SRW. Very happy with their performance. I average about 55,000 miles out of a set of 'em.

Remember, however, that the HT stands for Highway Tire, so their design is not for off-road use, and performance there is lessened.

Just use the truck to pull the camper. Really don't go off road anywhere with it. I like the General tires but not much luck locating them. I did find a set of 4 but the shipping was extremely high. My local tire dealer suggested the Firestone tires.

Got ht's on my dually and really like them. Had more aggressive Firestone's in my old f250 and they didn't last long at all.

Bought my truck used with a new set of em on it, have put a couple thousand miles on em and like em, they are decent in the snow also, with 4wd.

i am on my second set of Firestone traverses and i love them especially in the winter.they wear well also. My brother in law always buys different ones and hes on his third set where as i just replaced my first set...

I have a new set.
Bout 7500 miles so far.
No complaints.

I have been using Firestone HTs on my trucks for 10 years now. Have had great service from them towing a Hot Shot Trailer and my fifth wheel. Get 55,000 plus from them and still have tread life left.

Don't want to have to find a different tire.

Yes. You are right. My concern was having the same height in the tires as if I had a flat then I could put my spare which is a general tire on with the Firestone tires.

As a rule when ever I have had a flat I get it fixed ASAP and have the tire shop swap then out for me while I am there.

So running the spare for a short time should not be a problem, I'd mount the spare on the outside for easy access.

Oh yes, I would get it fixed quickly as well. I'm a little picky about that sort of thing. I laugh when I see cars on the highway going 65-70 mph on the temporary donut that is rated for like 40-45 mph

My 2014 RAM 4x4 came with them from the factory. so far about 20K on them pulling my FW. Tires now about half worn. They seam to handle loads quite well also. when loaded, my rear axle weight in at around 6000#. I would recommend them.
