We are not talking about the passing inconsiderate camper. Someone forcing their way into your camper is assaulting YOU!

When a person is committing a felony on you; you are justified in defending yourself and your family. Just suggesting an alternative to deadly force.

Personally, in that case, I hope they never see again...

I'll be the dissenting voice. We have camped all 3 big holidays these last 3 years with nary an issue or "special" story. I know it happens- but we've been lucky.

So far everyone has played nice. Also remember about 1/3 of our members are from countries without a firearm option and in fact finds that option objectionable. (avoid THAT topic too, please).
X2,

We stay at our permanent trailer for long weekends for that very reason. Being Canadian we don't have the firepower. Just a size 14 cast iron frypan !!

We left Sunday and found a spot in Lake Elsinore and had a great night.
Which campground in Lake Elsinore?

We had a run in with a drunk guy earlier this summer. Came stumbling into our camp during our fire. I didn't feel to threatened but it scared the hell out the DW. Mainly because we were the only two in the campground. Needless to say the next day we went into town and I now have a 9mm. Been wanting one for a long time but price was holding me back. We always camp in Wyoming and a permit is not needed to carry. And we almost always camp in the mountains and go on some atv rides in bear country. So for the most part I always have it on my hip.

Better to be charged with assault than being assaulted.

You come jerking my door open at 2am you better be expecting deadly force. I don't play with my families life.
