I get deer and brown bear in my yard all the time.
I thought everybody did!

If some came knocking on my door at 3AM, my first action would be to alert others that I needed help. A simple push on the vehicle panic button alarm and accompanying horn blowing would hopefully alert my fellow campers and maybe scare the knocker sober and make him move on.

I am glad I don't live in Canada, Seems like the BGs have the upper hand. If someone attacks me with a bat I cannot use deadly force? I guess they think a bat can't kill you.

No, you just need to be more skilled with a bat so you can win the fight. Personally I subscribe to the bring a gun to a knife fight theory (obviously not Canadian). Its just to hard to carry bear spray, bat, crow bar, knife, and stick. So I can match my attacker.

Just to update on my friends, they are looking to get a 2014 Thunderbolt 415 with two full baths! A good looking unit! They'll resume camping and put the "bad experience behind " once they get the new unit . Not bad after all!
