On my first trip of the season!! We are at buffalo springs lake camp ground in Lubbock Texas and we are in love with this place! We love the peaceful atmosphere and just the amazing feeling of finally being out camping! Just thought I'd share with y'all!

First trip

So the first trip of the season is going amazing for us all except for the fact of a big group of people right by us. I had to repeatedly ask them to turn off or turn down their Spanish music well into the night. Not a big deal and honestly was just trying to make the other neighbors content as well. I have also for the last two evenings in a row ask them to move one of their cars so I can get my truck in front of my camper perpendicular to it. I I know it's a park where ever there is room place but ten cars right by two campers is pushing my limits a little! The only other thing wrong with this trip is I had to tell them to please control their children because they were running threw my sight and jumping my fire! All else is amazing and makes me remember why I work so much and so hard. It is all for the enjoyable times like these!

You might enlist the aid of the campground host. Etiquette is a lost trait with some.

Can't but on the bright side the police stopped by and said hi and he told me they kicked this group off the lake last weekend and this weekend is a trial period for them and it looks like they won't be allowed back out to the lake until 2015! I was shocked they were so open about it to begin with! But all is well nothing a couple cold brews can't fix!

Would love to go to Buffalo Springs Lake, however, they do not take reservations. Can not chance driving 2 hours and not being able to get a spot.

That is a MAJOR downfall to this place but if you get here early in the week or mid way thru it's not a problem getting a spot. I have been here since Monday and this is a holiday weekend and it didn't start filling until Thursday. And there are still spots that aren't full hook ups available. I have been sitting out at the picnic table for about three hours now and have seen five more campers pull in and still open spit with power and water at least! This is my families new favorite spot and we will be coming here at least twice a month from now on!

Well it was an amazing trip this past week and I can't wait to do it again! On the plus side DW was helping to get rigged down and ready to go and was successful at backing up the truck perfectly! It was funny when she got out she stated "wow with that back up camera anything is possible because I just backed up". She was talking about the stock ford backup camera with the zoom function. The trip was a huge success and now we are home and tired. I go back to work tomorrow so just taking it easy today! Happy Easter to everyone!
