I bought a new 69 Javelin 390 4 speed close ratio posi trac. It was orange with fake black hood scoops. I called my wife from the dealer and told her and she was pis-ed at me until I got home and she saw the car. We went for a ride right then. I put dual straight thru mufflers on it and went to town to find a race. Those were the good ole days. She got 20-21 mpg and 140 flat out! It was very light so you couldn't do that in any wind. Still got my wife but wish I had my car back.

I had some other mods to my 54. Spun alum. moon hub caps. It sat on a rake with glass pack mufflers and chrome scavenger pipes exiting to the rear. some engine mods to the 235ci six cylinder included milled head, 2 side draft carbs.
double valve springs and others ( CRS )... fun car to drive.

I bought a used Honda SL 175 for $425, should have got the 350 but it was more than I could pay at the time.
I went out and started it one night to go to work found the throttle cable frozen in the housing.
I rode it till the snow fell.

My first car, a 1959 Plymouth. Pretty much the same color as this photo. How do you like those fins. But it had a push button automatic transmission. Way ahead of it's time.
