for those of you asking where Lake of the Pines is

I've had a few folks PM me about how to find this site online.

I was typing out the name incorrectly. Here it is:

Facility Details - BUCKHORN CREEK, TX - Recreation.gov#

Again, this one is on the SOUTH EAST shore of the lake. There are others, but not as beautiful and peaceful.

For the views shown in the pictures I posted, you'll want to reserve a site in Section 2 of this park. Section one is more inland and has *really nice* primitive camping sites out on a point.

I always thought it was funny that the OF is not spelled out in "Lake O' The Pines, TX".

Not too unusual - "Land O' Lakes Butter" is one that comes to mind.

FTR, there is no wifi here...using my iphone as a hot spot.

There's a restaurant near here ('bout 20 miles away) called 5 D Cattle Company. Privately owned. GOOD STUFF! They raise the beef that is served there. Highly recommend it. We're headed that way (again) in a bit.
