Ford's Trailer Backup Assist

So, I was at work today and a news blurb blew by on the TV's in the Cafeteria about Ford unveiling a new trailer backup assist thingamajig. Being curious I looked it up and found this:

Ford Unveils Pro Trailer Backup Assist for 2016 F-150 - PickupTrucks.com News

Now I can usually back up my 29' no problem, but I wonder if this will save me from jackknifing my dad's little 5' utility trailer?

And Scotty needs to beam us up....this is becoming the "button" generation! When people can't/won't try to expand their skills, in anything, they need to practice in parking lots before they waste their hard earned money buying a telephone pole.

What's the difference between turning the knob or turning the steering wheel. Another not so better idea from Ford. If you can't back up your trailer maybe you shouldn't be pulling one.

The difference is with the knob- you turn it in the direction you want the trailer to go vs. turning the steering wheel opposite. It's like an "easy" button.

As for a stupid idea- their are self-parking cars; why not a different way of parking the trailer?

Might be okay for those that have a tuff time gett'in in and out to look, but it's the "easy" that bothers me.....some people need the excersize! (spell.)

I guess it's cool but it would never be anything I would seek in a truck.
