Garmin GPS

I had a Garmin GPS, It now has a cracked screen which means it's in the garbage. I was wondering what is now a popular unit for RV's, that is worth the money for these thing, and why you like the one you folks are mostly using now?...

gljurczyk,
We have all but quit using our "gps" units as the updates and such were more expensive then buying a new unit.
We solely use our smart phones now for navi.
That just how we roll.

We've had a Garmin Nuvi 2460LMT since 2010 which came with the lifetime free map updates, has the Blue Tooth phone wireless hookup which lets you have hands free phone while still using the GPS. Love it 99% of the time. It also has the lane warning automatically telling you what lane to get in before you get to it. Good feature pulling a trailer. Wouldn't be without it.

Last year I needed and new one and decided on the Garmin nüvi 2460LMT GPS. It has lane change warnings, bluetooth. It's also a 5 in screen.

If you knew how, shall I say directionally challenged my DW is, I need all the help I can get!!! HAHA

X3 on the Nuvi.

I like it especially for its ease of set up and operation.

Got the Rand McNally 7720LM (free lifetime updates) after my Garmin mysteriously disappeared. It is designed for RV use, enter your height, weight, length, propane, etc and it routes you accordingly. Has all the Rand McNally POI, plus Flying J, Pilot stations, rest areas, etc including Wal-Mart locations. So far, it has performed very well with no problems.

Our tow vehicle has a built in GPS. But, prior to that, we had and love the Tom Tom. It has so many features others don't. Such as lane guidance, speed limits, elevation and ease of finding way points.

Ours is the Magellan Roadmate 3055, with the lifetime maps, also has lane change warning. Has a lot of other features, allows us to find stores, campgrounds etc. We got this unit because of the sales price and extra features. For us it's a blessing, no more getting lost or confused when in another city
