I wish the price of diesel would drop. Anyone remember when it was much cheaper than gas??

I agree. Still high at $3.00/gallon. Travel is down most places, so fuel a little cheaper plus no huge hurricanes in the gulf this year to mess up production. I want is back at around $1.98...that's my take on a decent price. Dreaming I think.

Also in all fairness, look at what we now pay for a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk now compared to what we paid 15 years ago.
The reason we are paying more for bread and milk and other commodities is because the price of fuel is up. Fuel is used to transport everything!

And...yup, I remember when diesel was cheaper than gas. It should still be that way!

I have discovered Aldi for milk, butter, and eggs and a few other things. Last week Milk was 2.09 vs. 2.79 at the regular store. eggs were 89 cents vs. 1.79, and shredded and bar cheese was 1.49 only for 8 oz. I go there for some staples and save money. This is a new discovery for me and I'm happy about it.
p.s. Their gormet "donut shop" coffee at 3.99 for 12 oz. (compared to 5-6 dollars) is really really good and I am picky about coffee.

Well that's what we lucky sob's pay in Ontario $5.20 a gallon if not more.

Yes - sure do. And since i never owned a diesel vehicle before we started RVing, I never gave much thought to the price of diesel.

When I started buying diesel I was shocked at how much it was.

Slightly off topic, but Aldi came into the DFW metroplex about 3 years ago with 8 stores and they are now expanding.

The press made a big deal about Aldi charging 25 cents for one of their shopping carts, but you get the quarter back when you return the cart - saves them the labor of retrieving empty carts from the parking lot.

Gas got down to 2.83.9 the week before Thanksgiving, then jumped to 3.09.9 last week. Yeah, it's holiday gouging, but whatcha gonna do? Stay home? Nyet.

A friend saw a sign in Arkansas this past weekend that *had* to be a mistake;

Diesel $8.88/gallon

I can imagine that store owner wondering why he wasn't selling any diesel.
