Paid $3.559 for regular, yesterday, just outside of Albany, NY.... Lowest it's been in a couple of years! <Made the round trip to Dover DE for last weekends NAS$CAR race, and only paid $3.129 (with my Pilot/Flying J $0.02 discount) in southern NJ on the way home Monday morning!

I filled up at $2.899 at Penn Laird on Wednesday....about 5 miles east of Harrisonburg. Gas on this side of the mountain is still in the mid $2.90s to low $3.00s.

Yep. I learned that on the urinals in the men's room. It says 3.8Liter - 1Gal/flush. Ha. Impressed the wife when I was converting liters to gals while in Banff a few years ago. I never told her how I knew.

We travelled through New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia this summer. Gas prices were higher the further east we went. The highest was around the Cape Breton area of Nova Scotia where it was around $1.40/L or $5.30 per US gallon. But what a gorgeous area!

I,for one, know that we here in the U.S.realize we pay less for a gallon of fuel than those in many other countries.

What irritates me is that we here are under the thumb of those countries that we import the bulk of our oil from when we have much more oil in the ground and off shore that we are told exists.

Another irritant is that whenever the Political landscape changes in these foreign countries for whatever reason, the price of oil goes up, even on that oil that is already here in the U.S.

Maybe we are finally starting to realize we can be free of the need to import the majority of our oil as evidenced by the increase increase drilling here in our own backyard.

I hope so.
