This station doesn't post Diesel price on their billboard like the regular gas price- so I couldn't see what the diesel price is.

3.05 gas and 3.87 for diesel here. Never thought I would see the day that diesel would be almost 1.00 more than gas!!!

And I,like most of us,never thought that $3.01 a gallon would be considered cheap.

We filled up with gas in Harrisonburg, VA Saturday for $2.98/gallon. Went half block down the road and it was $2.89/gallon at all the other stations we past there. Back to reality in Northern Virginia at $3.42!!!

Converted to per gallon, ours sits right about $4.73... It's no wonder I try and buy all my fuel in NY when we are camping there.

The price of gas here in ontario has made us take up camping south of the boarder ... in the USofA. Gas is cheap by Canadian standards, and so is the price of state campsites .. its just a no brainer for us ... and we are enjoying the new sites and sounds of America ...

Okay so I have to ask: I been to Canada a few times for my job. Do to logistics we have to drive across the boarder. Where we cross boarder is not a real busy area.
One time getting back into the states was a real pain. Search the car and all of our luggage. Numerous questions and paper work had to filled out. My bad for having my hand in my pocket, the lady guard pulled her gun. YIKES!
Anyway whats it like going threw with a camper?

Platokidd, we cross border camp pretty much exclusively from March til October. About 90% of our camping is in NY/PA/OH. Crossing the border is a complete non-issue in either direction. We do it about 40 times per year. Then again we have all appropriate paperwork, passports etc.

We've had all sorts of odd questions from time to time, and have had our trailer entered going into the US many times (usually takes about 5 minutes), but no issues.

Luckily we live about 40 minutes from the border and for me I can go over, fill up the truck, jerry can etc and have enough fuel to last me 2 weeks until we return again.

Then there is the cheaper booze (19 bucks for a 24 of beer versus over 30 here in the great white north). etc.

I filled up our car yesterday when most of the stations were selling 87 octane at $2.97 a gallon. Diesel is at $3.59. I haven't been out today to see what the price is.

Its sad when you have to come to NY for cheap gas. Here in the gas gouging state of NY gas has only dropped about .05 to .10 cents a gallon in the last two weeks. While every where else in the nation it is dropping like a stone.

It will drop after Columbus Day weekend I am sure. Right after the last big travel weekend of the season.

But don't you worry home heating oil is on the way up!!!!

Jjsav, no kidding. For us in Ontario there are significant savings coming to NY for fuel compared to Ontario. It'll really pi__ me off to have to get raped on fuel all winter long as there aren't any C/G's open in NY for us to use during the winter months. Luckily in December we are headed to Florida for 3 weeks.
