One custom I became aware of after moving to Texas was the practice of putting a package of salted peanuts into a bottle of Coke before drinking.

I always enjoyed that, but now since it is difficult to find Coke in bottles it seems to be disappearing.
This was my standard "lunch" while I was stationed in Utah. Yummy.
I forgot all about that! I wonder if it will work in cans?

The only downside is all the traffic and people speeding down my street because they are late to work at Hostess.

Schiller Park - isn't that close to OHara? The Chicago FAA office is or was located in SP when I would go there.

I guess it would and you can always put the peanuts in a glass of Coke. I can't drink Coke anymore, so I haven't done it.

If ya want the full effect: There are several grocery stores in my local area that actually sell real sugar Cokes in glass bottles (no high fructose corn syrup). Super 1 is one chain that does, as I have bought them there.

These Cokes are in the Mexican/Spanish food section, and are bottled in Mexico.

There is nothing better than the 'REAL DEAL' Coke, in a chilled bottle.

I buy these for family occasions held at my house. I have a brother-in-law who goes bananas for the real cokes.

The real sugar cokes are sold here also and my mouth waters each time I see them in the aisle.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they have gained 5 pounds from reading this forum thread today?

You don't want to even get me started on Doritos bringing back my all time favorite Taco flavored ones (even in a retro bag). I will eat a whole bag of them at a time if I don't watch myself. They're not exactly the same, but are better than nothing.

Siting here thinkin back when I was a young kid. My Dad loved to listen to the "fights on Friday nights, 10 PM on the radio. Dear old DAD would take me into the kitchen, close the doors, turn on the radio and get out the Limburger Cheese and crackers and I'd have to suffer through that every Friday night. No way could I eat that stuff, makes me about half sick every time I get a whiff of that stuff.
