Golf cart not fitting in truck

I have a 15 silverado 2500 with the 6ft 8" bed. Just picked up a golf cart and wont be able to close tailgate. What is your solution.

How far do you need to travel? As long as all four wheels are supported by the truck bed, you should be able to wrap a cable around it and secure it to the truck bad, given you have hooks for such a purpose.

I would assume it’s more of an issue of being able to tow something with the tailgate in the way. If as you say, all four wheels are in the bed, then maybe just remove the tailgate.

Will you have enough room if you flip the tailgate cables to the top latch post like pictured here?

Yes its to close the tailgate while towing my vibe. The tires are just at the end of the bed. Thinking about making a wood platform to sit in the bed and drive the golf cart on top of it.

Return the cart or buy a new truck.

We have a 2014 Silverado 1500 with the same bed that you do. To make it work, I have to remove the tailgate and use ratchet straps around the rear springs to make sure the cart stays where it is supposed to be. In the front I use a piece of plywood to distribute the load of the front cart tires hitting the front end of the bed. In my case, the back of the cart has a overhang that required me to rotate the trailer toung jack for clearance when making a turn. I even get a little better gas mileage with the cart in the truck when towing than without it. Jay

Thanks, was trying to avoid removing tailgate. Not taking that option off the table

I can rent you a bed stretcher. Sounds like you only need a few inches... should work.
