Ok finally stopped for diesel yesterday and was glad to find it for $2:13@ gallon, drove almost 1,100 miles and still had a quarter of a tank left so $300 later we should be good until New Mexico.

Stopping in Dodge City Ks then dropping down thru Ok to Taos New Mexico then heading to Santa Fe. From there up to Colorado Springs.

Don't know your schedule around Colorado Springs :: but there's a gold mine tour in Cripple Creek that we found to be awesome. It takes you down a vertical shaft 1000' to what was an operating mine years ago. I'll attach a screen shot

It's actually in Golden, CO, if you meant the Colorado RR Museum. Due west of Denver.

Also there's a train ride through Royal Gorge in Canon City, CO. Southwest of Colorado Springs, south of Cripple Creek.

No figure we would do the cog, wanted to do Mt Washington years ago but was under refurbish and only went half way but still charged full fare, go figure we passed.

Just spoke with our son in Taos and found out next Sunday, July 3rd he arranged a white water rafting trip with a friend of his who is a river guide, was not planning on that but won't disappoint him, have not rafted in over 4 years. He also has some hikes planned for us, I think he is really looking forward to mom & dads visit or trying to knock us off for the inheritance
