With the suspension, brake, trans and engine mods that I have done to my Excursion, not to mention the e-range tires, I think I can safely allow myself to exceed Fords weight limits.

I would have no qualms of putting a 15,000 pound trailer on it with 6 people, all the luggage, and a full bag of gas, and driving it to any corner of this country. I would not recommend it in a stock excursion.

I know when we had the MX-5 it was only rated for 300 lbs. I'm in the 200+ range so when the wife and I would take it out, we were already over capacity with just the two us. Even more after the trip to the grocery store / wherever.

There's no use crying over spilled milk, unless it's on your keyboard.
