29 out of 30 and I still argue that the radio runs off the battery and not the alternator. Take the alternator out and the radio will still work. Remove the battery and everything stops. JMHO

Even with the car running, the battery supplies the 12V to the accessories and engine so the alternator simply recharges the battery as it's power is depleted.

I didn't do too badly, getting a 22 out of 30. After I missed three I really quit trying.

You can excite the alternator with a 'doubleA' battery and everything will work but nothing else will not work with that, that is why they put in the part about the 'car running', if you turn on everything with the car not running they will all die quite quickly, but, if you put all the same stuff on and start the car you will see that the wipers are faster the lights are brighter the flashers are faster. With the old generators you did not need a battery to excite it it would run everything as long as the engine was running.

Start your truck, pull the hot lead from the battery and tell us what happens...

I got 29 out of 30, the Spud gun question got me. But not bad for a diesel geek; I do not know what a spark plug is any more will maybe, the gas engine lawn mower has one.
