I think you'll also find that many campsites have their own rules and regs for bringing a firearm inside. Not that you would get in legal trouble if you did, but I generally respect their wishes. My guns don't go in, and neither do my dollars.

When it comes to MY "personal" safety... you can bet your sweet ***** that I am carrying! Easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission. I will take my chances getting caught...better to have one when you NEED one than not have one when you need it!
Remember: when seconds count... the police are minuets away! NUFF SED!

Where's the like button? Couldn't agree more. Just ask the places where they are outlawed!

Actually, firearms are permitted in National Parks:
see:

Laws & Policies - Yellowstone National Park

FIREARMS IN PARKS

"As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms in this park.
The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, was enacted May 22, 2009 and will become effective February 22, 2010. Section 512 of this law; Protecting Americans from Violent Crimes, supersedes the uniform treatment of firearm possession in the national park system outside Alaska under the regulations found at 36 C.F.R. 2.4.
It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering this park. Yellowstone encompasses parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Each state has different regulations and these are listed below.
Federal law also prohibits firearms in certain facilities in this park (such as visitor centers, government offices, etc.); those places are marked with signs at all public entrances. Hunting and discharge of firearms remain prohibited in Yellowstone National Park.
Firearms should not be considered a wildlife protection strategy. Bear spray and other safety precautions are the proven methods for preventing bear and other wildlife interactions."

Be sure that you comply with all State and local laws, however!

The US Concealed Carry Association https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/travel/ has an excellent page regarding travel and State reciprocity agreements.

Know the law!

Yes it is a diverse group here and what is so wonderful about Canada & the US of A is we can both pretty much go where we want, do what we please as long as we do no harm to someone else. Not many countries allow that kind of freedom. I thank the good Lord everyday for that privilege and salute all veterans that have served or given the ultimate sacrifice to protect that freedom.
